Boiler Upgrade Scheme
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) supports the decarbonisation of heat in buildings. It provides upfront capital grants to support the installation of heat pumps and biomass boilers in homes and non-domestic buildings in England and Wales. Grants of £7,500 are available for air source heat pumps (ASHPs) and ground source heat pumps (GSHPs), and grants of £5,000 are available for Biomass boilers. Grants are offered at a flat rate and do not vary by capacity of the installation, which must not exceed 45 kWth unless it is a shared ground loop (SGL) which may have a maximum capacity of 300kwth. The scheme opened for applications on 23 May 2022.
